Description:
The Access Specialist facilitates the admission process, provides information and referrals and makes appointments for the treatment of psychiatric related problems. This position is also responsible for intake & linkage of Saint Barnabas Health Care System employees & their dependents to Saint Barnabas Behavioral Health Network Managed Care & EAP Affiliates/Provider Network, as well as for external EAP accounts(total membership approx 150k). The Access Specialist is responsible for all associated data inquiry, data entry & record-keeping.
All methods of practice shall conform to written hospital policies and procedures and be carried out to the highest achievable level of competence in a manner demonstrating concern and consideration. The Access Specialist will demonstrate the Saint Barnabas philosophy to Total Quality Management by actively applying that philosophy in all dealings with both internal and external customers.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in psychology or related human services field required.
Minimum one year crisis intervention experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal/telephone communication and organizational skills required.
Knowledge and proficiency of word processing, computer data input and/or mainframe preferred.
