Pharmacy Resident (Behavioral Health)

Description:

This is a 12 month pharmacy practice residency with an emphasis in psychiatry. The residency provides the resident in-depth experience with direct patient care. The resident rounds with various disciplines: General Adult, Geriatric, Dual Diagnosis, and committed Short-term care patients. Elective off-site rotations include, but are not limited to Child Psychiatry, Psychiatric Emergency Services, Pediatrics, Infectious Disease, General Medicine, Oncology, Critical Care, etc . The resident activities include: daily rounding with treatment team, Medication Education Groups, presents in-services to staff, provide drug information to patients and clinicians, Co-precepting Pharm D. students, lab evaluations , committee involvement and presenting one formal project at a National Meeting(ex:ASHP,ACCP etc). Attendance at the ASHP Midyear Meeting and Eastern Residency Conference is mandatory; (ACCP, APhA, NJSHP optional).

The resident receives full benefits inclusive of medical, dental, vision and prescription in addition to sick leave, paid vacation, and limited travel reimbursement.

Requirements:

EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:

Completion of course at an accredited School of Pharmacy, with a degree of Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD.) preferred.

Registration in New Jersey as a Pharmacist; current or pending New Jersey licensure required.
