Description:
For the purpose of improving care of the terminally ill, develop a hospice presence in the hospital, attending and facilitating rounds and care conferences when possible, conferring with providers, speaking at in-service meetings, attending committee meetings, and participating in new staff orientation. Act as a liaison and advocate for hospice patients admitted to the hospital, participate and assist in any research, CQI, or other studies involving "End-of-Life Care."
• The Palliative Care Physician/Director will provide leadership for the Palliative Care Program. The candidate will be an integral part of the team, providing patient care, supervise nurse practitioner, educate house staff and medical students, and participate in the team's initiatives. The candidate will participate in improving efficiency and effectiveness of resources and ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and clinical policies and procedures
Requirements:
NJ licensed Physician
Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pallative Care Medicine
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written Communication skills
Possess broad clinical knowledge
Demonstrated experience in palliative care and strong theory-based practice
