Description:
Obtains patient blood samples by venipuncture or capillary puncture using aseptic techniques and collection skills appropriate to the age and level of difficulty of the patient. Performs all duties integral to the identification/preparation of specimens for assay.
Requirements:
EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
High School Graduate or equivalent; successful completion of a formal Phlebotomy training program or equivalent work experience.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT/SKILLS:
Proficiently perform phlebotomy procedures, including venipuncture, by vacutainer or butterfly method, and/or capillary puncture.
