Description:
To provide speech and language therapy services for clients on the Home Health Program. Responsible for instruction and follow through with primary VN, Home Health Aide or caring person in the home, consultation to other home health professional staff members. Responsible for equipment used in performing speech therapy such as a tape recorder.
Assist the physician in the evaluation of the client to determine the type of speech or language disorder.
Identifying client's speech therapy needs, developing plan of management and long and short-term goals to meet those needs, reassessment of client's response to treatment and adjusting the plan of care as required.
Provide rehabilitative services for speech and language therapy; apply speech therapy procedures to achieve identified goals.
Instruct other health team personnel and family members in method of assisting the client to regain speech and language function. Act as a consultant to other agency personnel.
Graduate of a program in speech and language therapy that is licensed by the Audiology and Speech Language Pathology Advisory Committee of the Division of Consumer Affairs of the NJ State Dept. of Law and Public Safety.
Minimum one year experience in speech therapy preferred.
